Applying Depth Map to a Different Video

Hey everyone, I was wondering if it would be possible to take the depth map from Kinect and apply it on a different video to convert it to 3D? For example you have a video of a person moving, you then shoot another person walking in similar style and capture the motion using Depthkit. Would it then be possible to merge these two and make the first video look like it is in 3D? Sort of like 3D Projection Mapping.

In theory, something like this may be possible in that you can replace video files within your Depthkit project. However, the issue here will be that the new color video will not be synced with the pre-captured depth. It would be tricky to align the depth and color in this scenario.
